There are many benefits to SMS.  In addition to the ideas for applications, there are many things that make SMS a quality product for your use.

 

High Organic Matter.  The most valuable asset is our SMS has a high organic matter.  This means it will retain moisture in dry weather and shed moisture in wet weather.

 

Consistency.  Since Hy-Tech composts the organic, agricultural by-products for our own use, we have a consistent compost for growing mushrooms and a consistent spent mushroom substrate.

 

Weed Free.  After our extensive composting process and indoor pasteurization, our fresh SMS is weed free.

 

pH Level.  The pH level of our SMS is very consistant and averages about 6.8 on the pH scale.  This makes it a great substitute for lime and makes for a simpler process for spreading.
